Wedding Reception

Wedding reception is a party or treat [in the form of lunch or dinner] given by the newly married couple and their parents to their guests and wedding attendants after the wedding ceremony. This tradition of wedding reception is common among all countries. This is the ceremony hosted by the bride and the groom, where people from the society recognizes them a couple. Usually, wedding reception includes entertainment, informal talks and feast. Usually, guests are greeted with a receiving line. This receiving line means that any honor attendants or main hosts stand in an order [line] to greet and introduce every guest to each other. This receiving line includes the bride, groom, their parents and siblings if any. Wedding reception has some attractions like wedding cake, DJ and food.

Food is served according to the local custom of newly wedded couple. It may include serving of a single non-alcoholic drink with the piece of wedding cake and wedding cookies at first to each guest. Then the multi-course dinner or lunch is served to all. Type of menu totally depends on the choice of hosts. Almost in all western countries, toasts are made in the wedding party to wish the newlywed. These toasts are made before or after the food. These toasts are made by the bride's father, or by the best man, or by the groom and/or the maid of honor.

If dance is among one of the events of wedding reception then the newlywed are the first to hit the dance floor. . Most of the time, DJ band is there and couples dance with music. Sometimes, wedding games are also included as an event in wedding reception.

Here are some tips given below to organize your wedding reception

• First, make a budget for whole wedding reception and then allocate some part of this budget to each aspect of your wedding reception. Aspects of wedding reception includes venue of the reception, invitation, food, wedding cake, decoration, DJ/music, and wedding games.
• To reduce the budget of wedding reception, you can buy hand made paper for invitations. Wedding favors, and things of decorations you can buy in bulk from the wholesale wedding vendor. You can also buy wedding cookies in bulk.
• If you do not want to buy items for decorations like centerpieces and other things, you can take it on rent. If you want to buy these but still wants to save money you can buy it from cheap or thrift stores.
• You can serve formal dinner, which includes appetizers, main course and coffee after that. You can serve multi cuisine food if you can afford. This could vary from Italian food to Indian to Chinese food.

You can add more things to these if your budget allows you to make your wedding reception memorable.
